Aspire to Achieve Greatness

In the final days of high school over 15 years ago (gasp!) and with the dreaded SPM results looming (yes I know it sounds like forever ago), I harbored a small (& wishful) thought of maybe, just maybe and a little bit of you-never-know attitude of going to Pratt Institute in New York to study something in design (but i couldn’t draw to save my life). Yeappp, I had some mighty big dreams.

Needless to say, once reality hit (in the form of the parental (s) saying no way no how) so I chose to explore options. I picked a local college; with the provision it would be an ‘arty’ school and proceeded to bury myself in the world of Mass Communication focusing on Film&TV. Many years later, after a stint overseas and back again I finally figured out what I want to do for the rest of my life; and it has almost nothing to do with Film or TV… wish someone could have pointed it out once I finished local college..

These days not only do you still have uni / college fairs or roadshow to attend; there are career and networking fairs to help you kick-start your future in the corporate world. The one and only #graduanaspire is a highly anticipated career and networking fair; first conducted in Kuala Lumpur in 2011. When the whole idea of career networking began to take flight, GRADUAN ASPIRE extended its reach to East Malaysia (specifically Sarawak) last year. Its debut in Kuching saw more than 5,000 young ‘uns learning of the opportunities available to them, and taking into account some of the country’s leading corporations like Nestle, Shell, Alliance Bank and PETRONAS were able to secure some of Sarawak’s finest to join their organisations.

Not only is there absolutely total access to some of Malaysia’s biggest corporations and institutions, the GRADUAN ASPIRE BORNEO 2015 will be one of the most integrated career fairs of all time in Sarawak. There will be over 20 corporations from all industries; including LAFARGE, NAIM, INTEL, PRESS METAL, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO and so many more. Seriously, such greatness is NOT TO BE MISSED!

It’s almost the end of the yearrrr!

Hindsight is 20/20

I’ve heard it said before and always thought what does that mean? I mean, if I knew in advance what would have happened; would it change my decision or action or would I have done things differently?

Honestly I don’t know.. I would say probably it would have made some kind of difference or for all I know it may not make any difference. But it doesn’t mean I don’t want to know (who doesn’t want to know their future?)

Anyways, just a little reminder that regardless of everything; this Instagram post I found on Pinterest rang some of my bells🙂

Happy Monday!

Be your truest you.

In this stage of my life; where my passion and our ideas are merging, work is non-conformist and I just am so excited about it all that I’m mentally jumping up and down like a giddy child🙂, and it is in this stage of my life that I truly appreciate who I have become, the people I have met and my support system. Because it is in this stage of life where everything is fluid and so multiple-faceted that it’s either all connected or I’m just plain cray-cray for taking it all on at the same time..

Gotta love the craziness, gotta love the ballsyness and definitely gotta love the love. Thank you God for it all🙂 seriously🙂

Hello you warrior you!

Was going through my old blog (which has been deactivated now) and could not help myself but save some goodies🙂 and some of my posts just made me cringeeeeeee! Was good (and funny) to look back at myself and my thought patterns of 2003 – 2007🙂

(One of the MMAANNYYYY ladies nights and if I’m not mistaken this was quite memorable!)

(We were meant to see each other at the bus stop on Symonds St!! Because look at where we are now me dear!)

(We look so young nettey-girllllll)

(All about signs; and it was a sign to connect then and now babe!)

(There were some crazy mad times, so many burst out laughing times but most of all the times I had with you 3 were just beyond awesome!)

(You two never fail to make me laugh and cringe at the same time, love you too bits!)

To all the wonderful people who influenced and gave me all the invaluable experiences (some unwanted ones) while I was navigating the treacherous roads of my 20’s; I owe you one! Love you long time🙂
