And it’s over

And it’s over

The bazaar was beyond awesome. Not only did I Not have my usual 9 hours beauty sleep, I was p and on site by 6.30am, and I barely remembered to eat lunch. But i had the best time! The stalls, the food, the crafts, the fashion and best of all, the wonderful people!!! I think everyone enjoyed the spin-the-wheel especially with the super freebies!! I just enjoyed the whole atmosphere.

Sure there were kinks, which bazaar ever goes as planned. But we worked it out and it was peachy keen :) looking forward to the next one!

what a day! never have i worked this hard in 2 days, since i moved back to Kuching! setting up on Friday and getting there at 7.30am on Saturday to finish setting up, managed to gulp some coffee and have a bite of breakfast and in walks the first customer at 9.30am! Bloom Bazaar was so much fun! i mean, when can you network and make new friends with people in the same field, with designers who share your passion, with the group of like-minded beings who just totally understand what you are talking about! and sometimes, for a first timer like this, it is most definitely NOT about the number of people, it is about the seedling :) im full of ‘gardening’ terminology today!

at 9.45am.. still early!

We had some major awesome designers and sellers today (Eva Monte Designs, TeeBags and TeeShoes, Sheena Handmade House, AbbieYong and of course :) TLW and flourish&flaunt.. ) it was just nice to be honest. sometimes i feel something like this is great to start it slow, build the rapport and get a system going, rather than just wham bam thank you maam.. right?

the day wasn’t super busy, but there was a slight flow. which made it all the more fun, meeting random people, creating networks, making new friends etc.. great start! and me being me, im planning the next one.. (thank you Nettey-girl for the Hairy Lemon for without it, i would surely perish!!)

our TLW and flourish&flaunt booth was pretty cool.. looked kinda chocka-block, so i dint display all our stuff.. but in the end, i ended up taking out more and more and more.. never ending i feel! but a HUGE thank you to all the family and friends who came by, chatted, bought stuff :) and of course the silent support!

looks good eh?

this is very very organized in Jo’s books!

much love peoples! :)

p/s the next Bloom Bazaar is looking to be around the first week of October, which i have to start planning.. but give me the weekend to recuperate, (and being 30 is not helping here) and then its FULL STEAM AHEAD! :)

filling up my plate

filling up my plate

sometimes i wonder why i seem to always get myself into certain situations and positions. maybe its a family trait (i have been told repeatedly that this particular trait is extremely visible in me, i musta been swimming and diving like crazy in that gene pool) and sometimes i just really enjoy these choices and decisions, that seems to constantly happen. Its not really about the ideas and the events and the randomness.. sometimes its just the incessant need to do something, to try something and to maybe, just maybe actually finish something :)

it has been almost 8 months since i left the big , bright city of HongKers and now being based in Kuching has its relative quirky perks. for one, to get things done, it certainly is slightly easier, services are cheap, everyone knows someone who does something or can do something, so networks are slightly easier to build.. and  because everyone knows everyone it is easier.. right? NOT! somehow, the age old adage of Kuching being a small town does not seem to be working in my favour, it seems that there are not many people i know in Kuching, either that or im way past my generation? talk about being in the GAP..

so.. whats the point in it all? to be honest, it is about making it work, about changing the course and obviously having fun while im going through this part of life. my big and small projects like The Bloom Bazaar, TLW, flourish&flaunt and some other mysterious projects (soon to be revealed) is all part of the building towards something. some friends have already started asking me “whats the something?”, and to be honest, i dont know yet, but im sure it’ll form a picture pretty soon.

i forgot to mention, work-wise you have to add on the property management, add on the corporate online and social media work, and the odd piece to review for blogazines, e-commerce and all the related wonders of online retail :)   it is sheer madness somedays. but somedays its the best moment ever. mostly because i just plain darn love it :)

p/s HEY HEY!! Bloom Bazaar is THIS SATURDAY! :) 27th AUGUST, 9am -4pm (Koperasi Hijau, 209 Jalan Setia Raja 12A, Taman Stutong Indah, behind the NISSAN dealership) COME COME COME!!!!

its just the beginning

its just the beginning

ive been hoarding this little secret project for months now :) its been mad hatter busy the past few days (and being sick did not help at all!!) with my new goodies that arrived on Wednesday! yes, i was busy bee for days! unpacking, photoshoots, editing & editing & editing, photoREshooting AGAIN!! and uploading. and so, months and months of grueling setting up work has finally paid of :)

Tree Little Words is our little baby, and it’s just the beginning! it is a conceptual store and atelier, where ideas of all nature bloom. Not only do we have simple solutions for the everyday, we also make sense of the routine at the office. Think of it as simplifying and revamping your lifestyle, just because you can.

what started as a random idea, which we babied and had a few moments of  ‘pulled our hair out’ craziness, it is now toddling along (sorry bout the baby puns, but its pure excitement talking!) so take a look, forward it on, pass it on or even let me know what you think.. seriously!

at the moment we are only available on FaceBook and other marketplace style websites, but as the actual website is still under construction, so we’re more than happy to take email orders for now :)

so the travels continue, after a stopover in KL, we move on to Malacca :) which i have actually been too a few times over the years, but i cannot for the life of me, remember much about the place apart from the fort and the terracotta-like buildings.and recently, all ive heard about Malacca is the awesome-ness power of the Chicken Rice Ball. so off we went to Malacca, where hawker food go hand in hand with outdoor karaoke and market peddling their wares.

i LOVE IT!

yup, imagine this was just the beginning of the Street..

infamous but dint quite do so well.. the ball was weird.. and it wasn’t rice, it was rice powder mashed together.. weird!

BIG!

MMMMMM :) nom nom nom

we stop by Kuala Lumpur after all that traveling :) for obvious reasons IKEA and home cooked food. my grandma has the best-est recipe in the whole world, mince pork with salty vegetables (don’t mock it, trust me! we have converts!!!) but the funny thing is, you cant get the salty vege in Kuching (sigh) so whenever we are in KL, its like DEVOURED! seriously! that and we horde it like squirrels.. apart from that, all the other foods good too. i had my first every Salty Chicken (either that or i had it before but i dint quite remember it?) and my first trip to Pudu Market, where my grandpa would do all his shopping. old school indeed!

in Hong Kong this would be the Dragon boat Celebration (which is a public holiday and i would usually sleep till the cows come home.. LOL) dinner thing? i forgot the name in Malaysia, but basically you have a meal with family on the eve of the glutinous rice dumpling day thing?

old school!
